The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Mardan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hazara University, Mansehra, under the Enterprise Development through Skills, Innovation and Youth (EDSIY) Program, an initiative of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB), to strengthen academic, technical, and industry-oriented collaboration between the two institutions.
The MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellor of UET Mardan, Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan, and the Vice Chancellor of Hazara University, Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan. The agreement will remain effective for a period of three years.
The partnership aims to enhance capacity building and equip students and professionals with future-ready skills through jointly organized training programs and certification courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Technologies, and Engineering under the KPITB's EDSIY Program. The collaboration also includes the exchange of students and faculty members, addressing the shortage of technical skills in the Hazara region, and providing industry-aligned training opportunities for students, professionals, and the wider community.
The MoU establishes a collaborative framework through which both universities will develop and deliver technology-driven programs aligned with current market demands, contributing to the advancement of engineering education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and workforce development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Under the agreement, UET Mardan will be responsible for developing curricula and training materials, providing expert trainers and faculty members, and preparing technical reports for various projects. Hazara University will facilitate the implementation of these initiatives by providing classrooms, computer laboratories, internet connectivity, and other essential infrastructure required for the successful delivery of the programs.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan, Vice Chancellor of UET Mardan, said that the collaboration reflects UET Mardan's commitment to promoting quality education, innovation, and industry-driven skill development through strategic partnerships.
